How long can new us immigrant stay in us before returning to his country of birth?
Answer:
This question could be hard to answer - depending on if you are a citizen now or if you have a "green card"
If you are visiting the US on a visa it will tell you how long you can stay - and still come back
Usually just visiting is 90 days and then you have to go back -
as an Immigrant if you are leagle you will have a visa that says just that - and you can travel back and forth but you have to stay in the US for a certian amount of time before you can go usually 2 years - and then you can not stay out of the country for too long or you have to start the process all over again.
My advise is to go or call the immigration officials where you live they will be more apt to help you with this question -
It will also depend on Why you are an immigrant, are you from a war torn country did you get asylum - if you got asylum forget it you wont be able to go back and if you do well your asylum would end.
anyway get in touch with your local immigration department or embassy they are more equipped to answer your questions
The immigration department does have a website - there is a link below - I found it hard to follow but you may be able to find what your looking for there
Based on our Federal government. You can stay as long as you like. You get free education, healthcare, daycare, foodstamps, welfare, grants and everything else working American citizens can't qualify for.
