I have lived in the states my whole life, and am seriously thinking of living in Australia and applying for citizenship there. However, I was wondering if it would be possible to come back. A friend of mine told me it wasn't. But if a foreigner can come into the U.S., why couldn't an ex-American? Thanks in advance.
Answer:
Don't come back , we are still the same since you decided
to leave.
to become an australian citizen you will have to renounce your US citizenship. The U.S. government doesnt like it when that happens making it harder for those people to come back. Reason, because most people who do that are at odds with US policy and that is the reason they leave. Most are banned from coming back.
You are asking the wrong people. No matter what anybody says here, you should verify it at the site linked.
You could come back, but you would need an Australian passport and a visa. Or you could do what millions of others have done and enter illegally.
