Finally, a Border Patrol officer supported - wait, what's wrong with this picture?
"SAN DIEGO -- The driver of a car that dragged a Border Patrol agent into oncoming traffic in North County was sentenced Friday in San Diego to 15 months in federal prison, authorities said.
U.S. District Judge Dana M. Sabraw also ordered defendant Francisco Javier Rodriguez-Salazar, 21, to serve two years of supervised release when he is released from custody.
Rodriguez-Salazar, a Mexican citizen who is in this country illegally, pleaded guilty Dec. 15 to a grand jury indictment alleging assault on a federal officer, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Ott."
Since we don't have 'supervised release' of people in a different country, does this verdict assume that he is going to be allowed to stay HERE after jail???
Answer:
What is wrong is the supervised release. Those convicted of a violent crime are to be deported. This guy get 15 months while Nacho Ramos and Jose Compean are sitting in prison for 11 and 12 years for trying to stop a smuggler.
The current administration not only does NOT support the Agents in the field they are trying to strip them of their rights to Union representation.
It should have been ordered that he be deported immediately upon his release.
Why not? He's already going to have 15 months of food and housing on the taxpayer dime (it costs an unbelievable amount of money to keep someone in the federal pen). It would probably be better in the longrun to keep him here when he gets out, force him to get a job, and pay taxes to return some of the money.
the guy should actually be in prison for the rest of his life for assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer
No but it means if he breaks the law again he willl be either deported or placed in jail,
maybe next time he will commit a felony then an officer can use lethal force.
wtf. only 15 months for attempted murder? and the two American got 12 years. this is fricken bull sssshh. this infuriates me. not right, not right at all. what is happening in this country.
Evidently, they have no plans to deport him !!!
Sure looks that way. President Bush said that the deportation of illegals needs to stop during his trip to Latin America, as reported by the Washington-Times.
Quit spending my tax payer money on babysitting someone who shouldn't even be here to start with.
Public hanging at the border to make an example.
Yea if we a citizen of the USA assaulted a officer we would get 15 yrs. Figure that?? He will only serve 3 months?Maybe. Our tax dollars at work.
If anyone thinks (Bush) supports the Border Patrol agents...
Their crazy......and naive.
Bush wants open southern borders.
Bush loves the Mexicans, more then the Americans.
( believe it )

At least it was 15 months! After that, DEPORT his sorry butt out of here!!
However we still have the border patrol agents that are "political prisoners." What's happening with them? Sutton should be in prison! Put him next to Rodriguez-Salazar!
So if am right an illegal alien drags an officer with intent to kill it's 15 months vs Border Patrol agents stopping smugglers at the border it's 11-12 years
