Here is what I can tell you from what I know and have seen about this whole "they work for low wages" argument. In my area the illegals are getting paid the minimum wage for the work that they do. Latino organizations made sure that illegals got paid the same as everyone else who worked the same jobs. Now for the low wage thing... The employers who pay illegals under the table saved much more in having paid them this way. Medical insurance, no workers comp if the illegal got hurt, no benefits for illegals who opted for under the table pay.
However on the other hand - the illegals who wanted to get paid under the table did not have to claim income earned in order for taxes to be paid. If they didn't earn income (in theory), they signed up for food stamps, low income housing, the State's medical health plan for low income people, sent more money home to family and relatives there, and so on. And they were able to do this more expansively when one would get housing, and more moved in so they could pool a lot of the government and social systems for their advantage to save even more money.
When I hear that between $60 and $90 million dollars is being sent back into Mexico because of these illegals, I kind of get hot under the collar. Especially when the information also includes that the illegals only spend a third of their money they made in the U.S.
So the only solution to this part of the BS is for our laws, already on the books, to be enforced, and the employers start paying the price for hiring illegals. Everytime an amnesty/legal citizenship path is up for the illegals... it is really the employers, businesses, and others who are getting off scot free without punishment or penalty for breaking the Federal and Immigration laws. I mean the illegals should get fined, jailed, and deported too. But I think the others who encourage them should be punished, and fined much more so.

What should happen is when this bill passes they should also crack down on employers that hire illegals. Fat chance of that happening.
It certainly would qualify them for minimum wage. However that doesn't mean an employer will pay them a set minimum wage. How many of those who employ illegals now at a rate much lower than min. wage will be willing to pay them more for the simple fact they would then be legal. They will continue to pay them a pittance and they will still work for that low wage.

This total amnesty bill would give the illegals full citizenship rights! This is another major problem with this bill. The illegals would be granted these rights instantly along with a social security card! All the felons and gang bangers would also be given full amnesty and citizenship.
Please understand that this bill, S1348 is not about the illegals, they are just a distraction to cover what it really is about and that is to fully implement the north American union with us being turned into another Mexico complete with all the poverty and corruption! Our borders and national sovereignty would be a thing of the past! Forget the constitution and bill of rights. All the incredible hardships and riots this bill will cause will be an excuse for martial law with Dub-ya being absolute dictator. Expect complete economic collapse and long lines to get drinking water. Forget gas you couldn't afford it!

Many service industry jobs aren't required to pay minimum wage.Such as restaurant workers who can receive tips.But anyway,we need to get in place a better visa system and actually crack down once it's in place with harsh penalties for employers who hire after the electronic visa system is going.
