America's surly immigration officers are to get charm offensive lessons from Disney to lure back tourists put off by their intimidating 'welcome'.
They will be given tips from the creators of Mickey Mouse following falling visitor numbers - and a survey that revealed 70 per cent of those who have dropped the US as a destination cite an aggressive reception as the reason.
Since security was stepped up after 9/11, British visitors have complained of mistreatment at airport immigration, exceptionally long queues and excessive interrogations.
And with ten American airports set to take electronic prints from every finger of foreign arrivals - not just the two index fingers as at present - there are fears even more travellers will shun the States.
But now officials are responding to the criticism by employing Disney's recipe for tirelessly upbeat and helpful customer service in an attempt to get the free-spending British back, particularly with the pound at nearly two dollars.

Explaining his determination to get a bill passed this legislative session that would penalize employers who hire illegal immigrants, Mesa’s Rep. Russell Pearce told a local newspaper, “Disneyland learned a long time ago, when you shut down the rides, the people go home.”
It was an appropriate analogy.
It’s truly a Mickey Mouse idea to penalize Arizona employers when the federal government still hasn’t instituted a reliable system through which the employers can verify whether workers are or are not in this country legally. That’s a federal responsibility and they need to do a better job.
I commend Rep. Pearce’s passion for addressing the illegal immigration problem. It’s a huge problem in our state. And I agree with him that employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens should face financial penalties.
But let’s see if this new Congress adopts a comprehensive immigration reform plan, which I think they’ll do, before Arizona adopts any additional laws that will be difficult, if not impossible, to enforce.

A Mickey Mouse-like character is making regular appearances on Hamas’s al-Aqsa TV to teach Palestinian children that Islam will “dominate the world,” the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) organization said in a press release. Sections of the video are available for viewing on PMW’s website.
“The squeaky-voiced Mickey Mouse look-alike, named Farfur, is the star of a weekly children’s program called Tomorrow’s Pioneers on the official Hamas TV station,” PMW said, adding that the character takes “every opportunity to indoctrinate young viewers with teachings of Islamic supremacy, hatred of Israel and the US and support of ‘resistance’ – the Palestinian euphemism for terror.”
“We are setting with you the cornerstone for world leadership under Islamic leadership. Isn’t it so, Saraa’?” Farfur asked, turning to a young girl who co-presents the children’s program.
“Yes, our beloved children,” she replied.
“You must be careful regarding your prayer and to go to the mosque for all five (daily) prayers. I say, in the mosque and in the first rows, until we can lead the world,” Farfur continued.
“We remind you that we, the great ones, started this program to lead this world. The nucleus, with the will of Allah, will be from here, from Palestine. We will carry the concern of this (Islamic) nation that awaits us,” added Saraa.
The dialogue makes clear to children watching the program that Israel’s destruction is a clear goal of “Allah’s program.”
“From Palestine, oh Saraa’, what do you mean? From Gaza, Jerusalem, Ramallah, or from all of Palestine?” Farfur asked. “Yes, from all of Palestine,” she answered.
“Yes, we, tomorrow’s pioneers, will restore to this nation its glory, and we will liberate Al-Aqsa, with Allah’s will, and we will liberate Iraq, with Allah’s will, and we will liberate the Muslim countries, invaded by murderers,” Farfur declared.
“Yes, they are children occupied by the Jews, but with the will of Allah, we will resist and protect against the Zionist occupation,” the girl replied.

He's pro. I frankly hate Donald. You let one duck in, they end up taking over the entire entertainment industry. They all hire friends and give them choice jobs. First he brought in his nephews, then Daisy Now this country is lousy with ducks. I keep going to the park and see tons of them asking for hand outs too. I was told they have no desire to stay in the US. They just come here for the free lunch and get fat then move. They also bring diseases too. At lease mice are quiet and hard working.
MIckey would decline to concern himself with such as that.
Mickey is definitely pro immigration. Look at all his friends. He loves diversity!
With friends like Pluto, Goofy, Daisy, Donald and of course his sweetheart Minnie, he loves creatures of all creeds and colors.
