Honestly, no. And if I had a choice of where my tax money could be put to work...it would not be to support illegal immigrants, that's for sure.

Not all of them do crimes everyone deserves to learn and ALOT of immigrants PAY taxes i understand the ones that do something wrong and dont pay taxes but what about the ones that dont do crimes that pay taxes and dont ask for help from the government? what about the ones who know english what about them ??

EDIT: dreamgirl, you're dreaming! They have ALL commited crimes just by being here. That's what illegal means! And, inspite of your claim about them paying income taxes, forget it. They can't pay income tax because they don't have a SS#. Most are paid under the table. Sure they pay sales tax and property tax through their rent. The Heritage Foundation estimates that taxpayers shell out over $22,400 per year for each family. How is that "paying their taxes?"

And crime, check your stats...cause its remained about the same rate of escalation as the population.as I recall there's been some crime as long as theres been some people-there always is.

Amnesty will force the illegal immigrants to pay taxes currently as well as back taxes and fines and could earn the government a large chunk of money if they also fine the companies and people that are hiring illegal immigrants. Did anyone at any point actually say that we should WELCOME illegal immigrants, because I'm sensing that's what you believe we would like to do. I don't think anybody's saying that. What most are saying is that those illegal immigrants that have proven that they can maintain a job, not be criminals and can provide for their children should be allowed to stay.
I've met many US citizens that cannot attest to being able to maintain a job, not be a criminal and provide for their children and they can receive all welfare benefits, not just their citizen children which is the case with illegal immigrant parents.
No one wants that. This is why people want the bill to pass. I'd like to hear from the Irish and Italians about their immigration which was considered legal but they contributed to high crime rates, overcrowded schools and leeched tax dollars to support them.
Until we build this great wll of whatever to keep the illegals out, we will continue to face this issue.
-I don't like it as much as ou do man. As far as what to do with the 12 million that are already here. I say if you want to stay you join the military(if you are young enought), or your children must serve and you start paying taxes right away. If you are here, honest, and working hard, why not stay and pay taxes like the rest of us. The rest will come around when there is enough money to support overcrowding.
Last night I was watching this news about a guy who beat a lady on a wheel chair to death just to steal a few dollars from her, he was american, another guy hit an 85 years guy within an inch of his life, he was also, american, I only see american beggars out on the streets, not many illegals, don't blame illegal people mate, there might be a few rotten apples, I give you that, just remember that illegal immigrants make California the 5th. most important economy worldwide, not to mention that many illegal people also do pay taxes. So you also get something out of these people. Don't you forget that.
For those that are unaware, illegals can obtain a legitimate SS# through the IRS by ways of the working permit, aka the H1B visa.
True-not every illegal has this, but many in fact do.
Which allows them to legally work here in the U.S.A. and they also must file their income taxes like the rest of us.
Only thing different is, we can get a refund come tax time, but they will never see those taxes they paid.
I happen to know illegals that have this permit, and they most certainly DO pay income taxes.

I know one illegal immigrant. I worked with her at my last job. I don't know her reasons for coming here, (we couldn't talk much, as she barely spoke any english)
She is a very sweet girl, and she has never committed any crimes, or hurt anyone. She does recieve state assistance now, because she is expecting a child, but only what she really needs.
There are a lot of illegal immigrants in my town, and the rest of the country, but I believe people are looking at this problem in the wrong way. This country was formed by immigrants, some invited, and some not. Everyone should have a fair chance of making it here, regardless of how they got here. If they screw it up though (committing crimes, abusing state services, etc) they should be sent home, whether they are illegal or not. That is my view anyway.

No, I don't enjoy it at all, but I think we're being a little to harsh in the whole situation. I don't have any ideas how to fix it, but I think it's horrible when a person has such a hard time just to move to a new place. After all, it's just land. Why do we need to be so greedy? Crime rate will increase as criminals increase. Schools will become overcrowded as our population grows. Sure, we're all tired of forking out our money to support illegal immigrants, but a percentage of them are coming over here in hopes of a better life. Of course, a group of them are here for a free ride, but the same goes for many Americans. I say we all quit whining about it and get over ourselves.
