Should we offer any available job to a citizens first as a rule of llaw. we would then know weather a citizen didnt want the job before we give it to a non-citizen.

My hope is that it will not. I also hope that everyone that is supporting this nightmare of a bill will remember it next time that election time comes around and get rid of those that are not for the citizens of this country over known law breakers (illegals).
Living closer to the border than many, I have seen time and time again where jobs that Americans were more than willing to do were given to those that were illegal and could be paid 'under the table' or as 'contract labor' - thus bypassing taxes. It is 'against the law' - but when you have so many that KNOW that enforcement is not really being enforced - where is the problem with them doing such? Even if a business is fined - considering the massive profits in doing such - just how bad is that fine that they have to pay compared to the lost jobs for American workers?
I just want the laws enforced. Nothing dramatic. No need to waste hour upon hour in debates within the House or the Senate.
Till the profit margin for big business is put to a grinding halt - where is the incentive for them to obey the law? the law not really enforced?

My family were immigrants - LEGAL IMMIGRANTS! They had no programs such as there are today that aid known law breakers with food, housing, and medical care. They worked and became part of this country - not like what we have today within this country with the massive invasion of illegals within our borders today and thier attitude.

Since all Citizens here are of immigrant decent that would mean that your peers would be out numbered like a million to one. So what would be the odds?

It will probably pass the Senate, because they want to get something passed. I feel that this bill is a total fraud, and that it is worse than doing nothing. Rewarding law breakers with the fruits of their crimes, the right to live and work in the U.S., only encourages more crime. Do you stop auto theft by giving the criminal the car after he pays a small fine?
I am hoping that enough Americans will wake up to the huge flaws in this amnesty bill and bombard their Congressmen with phone calls, emails, and faxes so that the House will not pass it.

Always offer an American a job before ever considering an illegal immigrant or a migrant(foreign)worker. If necessary, provide training and assistance to help the American get the job. If that does not work, hire only legal migrant workers and do not allow them to stay unless they have completed the process in legal fashion. I think the bill stinks. Typical of the crappy service we get from our current government. It is time to form a militia of private citizens to deal with this. A semi-military, even possibly subversive covert action against the infiltration of law breaking illegal aliens. I mean come on, you don't think Bosnia could happen here.? This is essentially the same thing that happened there. Refugees or illegals cross, you try to get rid of them, they revolt. Do you not think that 15 million people could cause this? Think again buddy!

Well acording to the Mexican constution, that is the way they do it in their country. But its racist if America does it.
I think it will pass even though most American don't like it. Its not about what the people don't like, its about Congress doing whatever the hell it wants without having to account to anyone because they know that most of us morons will have forgotten by next election.
I think offering jobs to U.S. citizens first would be a great idea (or at least give them preferences in hiring). I also don't think that babies born in the U.S. should be automatically considered U.S. Citizens if their parents are here illegally, on work visas or simply on vacation from other countries. They should only be considered U.S. Citizens if their parents have applied for permanent residency and have met the requirements. To do otherwise, is to provide a GREAT INCENTIVE for more illegals to come here so they can say that they can't be deported simply because they have to care for their newborn U.S. Citizen.
On a number of issues, the bill is bad law. Write your Senators and Representatives and urge them, in polite terms, to reject it. If the bill passes, it's also possible that it could be struck down by the courts as unconstitutional, since it redefines citizenship in an ambivalent and arbitrary way.
