Cause the US is a Constitutional Republic and NOT a Democracy.
Some folks have yet to figure this out.
Because THEY want it to pass. I just hope those that are voting against it stand their ground and do what their constituents elected them to do. Protect this wonderful Country and follow the laws that are now in place.
Bush has arrived at the desperation station.
This was his last chance to leave a "legacy" since everything else he has done has been a total disaster. Fortunately he probably won't get to leave yet another disaster behind him.
Let's see...what else could they be doing...Healthcare reform, tax reform, fiscal reform, bringing the troops home and out of this religious civil war. Those are a few that come to mind, but I guess they really don't matter that much...or do they?
Politicians do not follow the polls and probably should not seeing they represent the irrational emotions of a good portion of the electorate.
Bush and the Democrats both ran on comprehensive immigration reform and they are trying to keep their campaign promises. To a certain extent, we should commend them for it.
They are a bunch of Washington weasels that don't care about Americans. "Jorge Bush" cares more about his promise to Mexico than anything else. He's a liar and a scum bag! (And I voted for the creep twice!)
Rasmussen also has Rudy & Thompson at 24%. Romney and McCain are at 11%. McCain's support is down the toliet due to the Senate's piece of crab bill.
We can't let up in our phone calls and emails to the weasels! They must know that we don't vote for pro-amnesty people! They are evil.
EDIT: Ryan -- Some dems may have run on an amnesty plan HOWEVER most ran on an ANTI-AMENSTY plan. They should be voted out of office/recalled. They are liars!
We need to find and shoot the son of a ***** who taught George Bush the word "comprehensive". He certanly doesn't apply it anywhere else.
The dems see this as an opportunity to control future elections. After all if you were a recently legalized illegal wouldn't you vote for the party that promises you the most food stamps, free housing, free medical and free college?
The repubs want to appease their big business supporters. Big business wants to keep wages down and by an artificial influx of people (thus altering the concept of supply/demand) they keep the working stiffs wages at abysmal levels. What is short sighted of them is that once this passes they will never win any elections for at least a few decades or until the money runs out for social programs and we have another revolution.
Because they:
1) Have no regard for the citizens of the US' opinions. We are merely gnats to them.
2) Bush is like a dog with a bone. The bone being savings to
his cronies in Texas and other states who are reaping huge salaries avoiding paying Americans decent wages by paying illegal aliens a pittance.
3) They believe we can't see the impact that horrible bill
would have on our nation's future? No, they just can't get past their greed and benefits to them at our cost.
They're power hungry and they care nothing for the American people. The presidents power of his position has gone to his head and he has become so deluded with it he believes his will is the only one that should be served.
