An immigration story - is this justice?
Two years ago, I found them and my eldest daughter came to live with me. Because she was born out of the country, I had to file naturalization papers for her, so that I could enjoy the life with her that I was denied of for all those years.
This past Friday, the government denied her petition. Why? Because I cannot prove a father/daughter relationship with her before she was eighteen.
I'm a hard-working, tax-paying American citizen that has never broken the law. I have to switch on my TV set and see mobs of mostly uneducated people demonstrating in the streets and DEMANDING citizenship.
All I have left now is an appeal. Is this justice?
Answer:
The same thing happened to my father Brad. He only found his dad when he was 30. But because he wasn't naturalised as a British citizen before he was 18, he has to do it the hard way. So it isn't just America hun. Sorry to hear about that, wish you all the best.
NO, but I bet you are white. Justice in America today is not for us.
No it not, in today time it seems the dishonest reaps rewards while honest people how work within the rule are denied their rights.
No this is not justice. It is a shame that the government looks after everyone but it's own. Until American citizens start to stand up in protest against illegal immigration, we won't see a change. Hope things work out for you & your daughter.
You can thank illegals for the harsher amnesty. And the pro illegals for wanting whatever lines their pockets. Why cant you get a parternity test to prove she is your daughter? So is she still living with you? I would think that if so many illegals are here, they wouldnt bother with deporting your daughter? There is no justice in AMERICA anymore,We send our kids to war and let billions of terrorist in our country to take care of,its all about money and votes, there is only hope now and God.Pray, and hope the judge has a heart. And remember good is always better than evil.
You can't apply for citizenship and expect to get it automatically because you're an American - We don't matter anymore.
We have enough people here already - we have to take care of the one's who are here. Until we can get our immigration laws strictly enforced, no one should be allowed to enter.
Hopefully this incident with your daughter and the government will motivate you to help us in the fight against illegal immigration.
Sorry about your bad luck.
Try starting a petition and check out some of the other websites for information.
Did you explain the full story or even get an interrogation?
get a good lawyer or tell her she can go to mexico ans sneak in threw there. it was on the presidential debates last night how people from other country's are going to mexico and coming in illegally. i wish you a lot of luck.
No it is not justice
I wish I had some information or help for you but I do not know the intricacies of the immigration laws but I am amazed that an actual citizen of the US is not allowed to get citizenship for his daughter under the circumstances that you have suffered. I hope someone with extensive immigration knowledge answers your question and provides you with some help and like the post above look into getting a good immigration lawyer, some may even work pro bono for this situation and another thing have you thought about contacting a fathers rights group? THEY may be able to give you expert advice and lead you in the right direction. Good Luck, don't give up.
I agree with you and I am very sorry to hear of your difficulty...are you confident in your lawyer? I would encourage you to write and rewrite your representatives. It sounds like you are not getting justice. Yes, the fact these silly people demonstrate and demand anything is a blaring testimonial to their lack of reasoning capabilities. Write your rep's about them too.
It is not justice, but, lashing out at other people trying to get into this country is not going to help. Your problem is with the people who run the system, not the illegal immigrants.
I am sorry for what you are going through, but please do not generalize.
Just the same with a billion other people trying to *legally* come into this country. I guess *some* people are just too dumb to realize that people from other countries can't jump a fence and be in the United States.
Oh and that's not a generalization, that's a fact.
you know my friend I feel for you. The problem you have is exactly why legal immigration is a good thing. but give it some time after all the mexicans get in here she may have a fighting chance of staying. Or you can have her come in through mexico, they all seem to be doing all-right.
