It sounds nice.. But I hardly doubt they'd be willing to fight and die for this country to begin with. The war would be a wash or they'd most likely end up taking sides with the terrorists to bring us down and 'reclaim' their homeland.
We (our American soldiers) are the only ones trained and have enough courage to stand up against the Iraqi insurgents and radical Islam.
And frankly, I wouldn't want an untrained illegal alien who can't speak English to be sent over there to fight by our soldiers anyway.
I do like your idea though.. Make them EARN their citizenship and the benefits and rights of being a true American.

It's a popular notion...to make them sign up for military service in exchange for being made legal. But since I'm against the war and don't think this war is being fought for Americans (therefore shouldn't be fought by Americans) I am also against Brits fighting it and Mexicans fighting it. I don't believe in human sacrifice. So if the war is wrong, it's wrong to throw the Mexicans in there too. We'll have to come up with another way to make them prove their loyalty. IE stop attending demonstrations, stop flying the Mexican flag. Learn and speak English. Assimilate. You know, the stuff the Europeans HAD to do.
