I am Canadian living in the U.S. I have applied to renew my pasport .Can I cross the border?

Without a passport or birth certificate (both sent in to renew passport) will I be allowed to cross the border and return?

Answer:
No you cannot. Canada is visa exempt so you can visit for up to 180 days at a time, but not without a passport.
umm I think you only need your green card if you have one. If not you are here in an undocumented status. A Canadian passport doesn't make you legal in the US.
i think so
