No, they just put the fire out! Why is that so monumentally difficult for those within the beltway to understand this simple premise... you have to stop the root cause of the problem FIRST by securing the border. The current legislation is just more cannonfodder, that worries about the illegal, instead of the Legal that's footing the bill for all of this including the politicians that are mucking up the process.

I was going to send a message to some of my pro-friends here about the root cause of illegal immigration. I believe the root cause is globilization and over population. Illegal immigration is caused by farms that are going bankrupt in central america and the latin American economy is going down the tubes. If we allow illegal immigration to continue, it would aggravate the problem with out solving it.
Great analogy.However, you forgot to mention, those starting the fires, businesses, are relatively ignored.The root of the problem, are those nasty little arsonists, who get away with starting these fires, lets fix that problem first and the rest will fall into place and no one gets burned.
The last thing the politicians want is to examine why they not only allowed this to happen, but engineered it by not enforcing the laws on the books in the 1986 amnesty . Maybe we need to asked the likes of those such as Ted Kennedy why he and others should not be held personally responsible for the mayhem and cost to the American people for his and others failures.

It's not monumentally difficult to figure out unless someone doesn't want to figure it out. I mean if "cheap" labor was all they wanted then there's a host of countries where they could have drawn from. They could tell the American people that in order to keep our businesses here and be able to compete wages are going to freeze or something instead of making it sound like everybodys just to darn lazy and stupid to do the jobs here. They'd quit lying about how everything is so great when it's only great for a few...stagnent for others and a nose dive for others. Problem is whenever you look to anything that makes the government responsible the picture suddenly changes. They don't want to fix the problem. It's like the arsonist who gets paid to burn buildings down so others can collect insurance benefits. They don't want people to be wise about the scams and secret agreements that benefit the few at a great cost for others. Following your analogy..any fireman that's been doing this job for awhile starts learning more and seeing patterns and definately gets to where they understand alot more and knows when there's a cover-up. Maybe for a while they might buy into..well the new buildings are built with different material that burns different or some other line of B to make them question themselves....but after awhile when it doesn't mesh it doesn't take a brain child to figure out somethings wrong. Ask too many questions and you start finding more of the experienced fireman suddenly laid off, fired etc. and a whole new group of green-horns in that are starting out at square one who don't know enough to question things.
That's why I feel to my bones in so many ways that they have sold us out. They can't fire the elder long term citizens or people with an ounce of common sense and we aren't dying fast enough but they can make life hell, break the bank, dummy the citizens kids down and they can by bringing in newbies who aren't smart enough to question anything and just blindly follow their new masters because they have nothing to go on. They're free, they got money and their thoughts aren't beyond that because they don't KNOW what it means to be an American. Can't loose what you never had and they don't see what's happening and our government doesn't want them to. They want to hurry the process up so they can get on with their agenda.
I don't know if it's the NAU, the New World Order or what is on their horizon, but it's obviously got people in other countries hating us and this country divided. I don't care how many times someone tells me 1+1=3...I know it's not. You can confuse me with new math. You can call it something else...but you can't change what I know is true. You can beat me, throw me in jail and I can even lie and say ok.1+1=3 but it doesn't change the fact it's not.
People that are anti-amnesty want to fix the problems. They don't want a sweeping amnesty and have everything "forgotten" without the people in this government and business being held accountable for there massive failures. I want to get to the bottom of this. Not be like Bush who just wants to do anything because he's tired of dealing with it right now. I don't want a temporary band-aid that just lets us "forget about it for awhile" because it's going to keep happening again and again and again. Anything isn't better than nothing when it really doesn't get to the problem. Massive amnesty isn't going to FIX squat because the bill is a joke. It doesn't really deal with anything. It's a massive tangled web and the American people deserve an honest answer.
I don't blame the Mexican people or anyone else for wanting to give it their best shot to get here. I agree there needs to be reform. But there's so much more to this puzzle and I want to get to the bottom of it. At no time was everything abused at such levels by people wanting to come here. At no time have I ever even heard of "anchor baby" or anything like that. With people dying all over this world don't you think if it was really that easy that we wouldn't have been bombarded like this long ago from every nation on this globe? They'd have been birthing babies on the beaches or in boats in "American" water ions ago if that was a sure fire way to get in and avoid the proper channels. Our airlines would have been be filled with foreign pregnant women aiming for American space or land.
It's enough to see our country going to pot and knowing somethings just not right that it really adds fuel to the fire to have people who are hear illegally demanding more and changing everything for the people who live here. Language and the whole nine yards. They think they're "getting" when they have no clue what they're loosing in the process. Kind of like arguing with a teenager who THINKS they know it all and are POSITIVE we are DEPRIVING them of the secrets to life by not giving them the keys to the car and a bottomless charge card to have fun with. We're DENYING them RIGHTS when we try and explain free speech doesn't mean the right to tell your Mom to go f herself because she won't let you stay out all night with a college boy when your 14.
I don't want them (illegals)used and exploited as cheap labor. Just don't scream in my face on how you're doing me a favor when you volunteered for the service and then call me stupid and lazy. Laws limit but they also protect. Wanna charge card fine..just don't whine to me and expect me to take the fall when you're still paying on something 30 years from now and finally figure out they are using you to line their pockets. It's not MY fault. Lord knows Americans know full well where it leads. You don't go from shoving your money in a sock to big business investor when you can't make it through high school. Don't come crying to me when your kids make it through college and can't get a job because of you're muli-language BS and they have to speak Chinese now to be "fair". Or when construction goes to a lull and you land in a Hungarian neighborhood to try and work. Don't get mad when it goes to Spanish push S4 because all the other "immigrants" have the right to have everthing in "their" language too. Got to stop the flow to get to the rest of the issues.
Forget the fence. Dig a canal along the Mexican Border. Take that dirt to New Orleans for dikes and build the town up about the water level. Then get alligators from the everglades (which are drying up any way) and move them into the canal.
